The Trundle bush Tucker Day formally came into existence in 1987 with a small group of enthusiastic locals identifying a great way to raise funds for the  local community. Now in it's 30th consecutive year our festival is the only traditional Bush Tucker cooking competition in the region and attracts over 1000 visitors to our country village providing a fun filled day and evening for the whole family.


Our Celebrity Cook, Kate Bracks - Masterchef winner of 2012 - made sure the willing cooks were well informed and entertained. While by night fall, The Bushwackers had us with our knees up, singing along to the Australian classics.


Filming of the BBC children's television program Yes, it's true, the UK can't get enough of Trundle and they sent a crew to film our iconic event. The presenters of the program 'all over the place' took part in our 'Master Bush Chef' competition, bringing some of their international flair to the competition.


The talented teams from Northparkes Mines battled it out to produce the tastiest treats for us  to sample. We had a fantastic Cooking Demo with the very popular Sophie Hansen, Lovers of bush music were served up a musical feast with Live Bands from 1pm til late. With the headline act of  Simply bushed, as well as Kotahi Groove and a special set by Trundle locals.


2015 saw record crowds for Trundle Bush Tucker Day's 29th annual event. Country music legend Adam Harvey perform live on stage. Celebrity cook Michelle Southan wowed the crowd with her cooking demo and was also a guest judge for the bush tucker cooking competition.


Trundle Bush Tucker Day Inc's primary function is to host the Trundle Bush Tucker Day festival in September and our ever popular camp oven cooking competition.  We are a not for profit community event and all profits from the day go back into the local community. We rely on the support from local businesses and sponsors, without their help this event would not be possible.
